Welcome to the science of Yoga! We are delighted that you want to begin or re-begin your Yoga journey! There is a LOT to learn even from just reading this page as you begin to un-learn many things you learned about Yoga. Your understanding of Yoga is about to change.

What is Yoga and how to pronounce the word correctly?

Before trying to understand what Yoga is, let us begin first with understanding how to pronounce the word Yoga correctly. That way, it can be represented correctly at least on this page.

 

Yoga is called "YogaH" in Samskritam (Sanskrit), the language in which Yoga texts are written and from which Yogic terminology come including names of all the Yoga-postures. So, going forward, we'll use the word "YogaH".

 

The word Yoga is pronounced "Yo-gu-ha". Here "ga” has to be pronounced as “gu” of the word “gum” and H is to be pronounced as “hu” of the word “hut”. So it is not right to pronounce Yoga as Yogaa with a long “aa” sound at the end.

 

What is YogaH?

 

YogaH is a science, the science of how to live. YogaH has been passed on to us for thousands of years as a way of life. It is a way of life that helps us to get the best out of life such as excellent health, infinite happiness and abundant success in life.

How does YogaH help you lead your best life?

 YogaH helps you lead your best life, because YogaH is a syllabus to transform you from casual living to conscious living, from feeling helpless to feeling empowered, and from feeling insufficient to feeling magnificent. If you are already feeling great, it makes you even greater.

 

Doing Yoga-poses is only one part of the syllabus. There are many other practices to help you live your best life.

The picture below shows 8 modules that form part of Yoga-training in "Yoga-for-Happiness Academy". But if you are going to jump start YogaH, then you don't have to worry about Module 6 & Module 8.

How to access Module 1 - Essence of YogaH, Happiness and Life? 

There will eventually be a simple E-book and a video program exclusively made to help you understand more of Yoga fundamentals. For now, there are 2 ways to gain some understanding of this module - Through private Yoga training and through parts of a book.

How to access Module 3 - Intelligent Movement? 

There will eventually be a simple video program with just 4 Yoga-Exercises or Yoga-poses for you to begin incorporating intelligent movement in your life. For now, there is an amazing and fun way to incorporate this module - Through the multi-media program called Yoga-Laasyam.

Yoga-Dance-Story Alchemy

Indian dance is a minor stream of Yoga and is called "Naatya Yoga" (Yoga of dance). Though the dance form is highly complex and intricate, only some poses and hand gestures (Mudraa) are adopted here while still retaining the authenticity of Yoga. 

 

The course is fun, creative and one-of-a-kind since hand Mudraas lend way to story narration while holding the Yoga-poses as dance poses. It is a journey on multiple levels.  

 

Most typical videos and DVDs are "Copy the Instructor" kind. This course fills the gap by providing everything you need for an independent practice. The training is completely shot outdoors, and the education is supported by visual slides.

How to access Module 5 - Eating and Cooking? 

There will eventually be a simple E-book and a video program exclusively made to help you understand more of healthy eating and cooking. For now, there is only 1 way to gain some understanding of this module - Through private coaching. 

 

Private Training through VIP day OR 90 Day Transformation Program

 

Example areas to work on are: Personalized Fitness plan, Meal plan, Shopping plan, or Weight-loss plan.

 

For example, if you give a list of your favorite foods, you can leave the VIP day with a complete meal plan, cooking ideas, recipes, shopping list etc. that you will be excited about.

How to access Module 7 - Techniques of Focus and Meditation? 

The modules from 1 to 6 form a syllabus in preparing the mind for meditation. But we can also use 2 other methods - Chanting and Guided Visualization.

 

Chanting helps in bringing the racing thoughts to a single point of attention. Guided Visualization helps in keeping the mind in the present moment. You can also have a custom plan made for you through private training and coaching.
